Glenwood Springs, Colorado (July 12, 2006) Nancy Stevens, blind since birth, has found that "perfect vision" is the key to success.
When you know who you are, and you are being that person, you achieve success. When you ignore your dreams and the "inner you," problems in your career and life are your constant companion.
Stevens, a tandem cyclist, skier, rock climber, successful entrepreneur, two time world champion Triathlete, and musician is a three-time gold medalist. In addition, Stevens has completed a 3,000 mile bike across America. Stevens, and her guide Nancy Reinisch, made history in 2005 at the world champion short course Triathlon, swimming 1 mile, biking 26 miles, and running 6.2 miles. Together they set a new world record of 3 hours, 19 minutes, and 15 seconds.
Stevens has never let being blind stand in the way of achieving her goals. As founding director of High Country Options in Frisco, Colorado (where Stevens was coaching individuals before she even knew what coaching was), she has assisted over 100 individuals with disabilities to explore and achieve their dreams and achieve a new sense of self-worth. While working at HCO she also provided over 50 disability awareness programs to children, business owners, and government entities.
Because of her work helping others with real and "perceived" disabilities, Stevens has created her JUMP START YOUR HEART-CPR FOR YOUR DREAMS coaching program. The program which consists of keynote motivational talks and one-on-one personal coaching includes three components:
Having a Clear Vision
Being Persistent
Taking Risks
In her JUMP START YOUR HEART-CPR FOR YOUR DREAMS program, Stevens uses real-life experience, and shows by example that taking small steps toward your dreams can make them real. Stevens dream to be a professional speaker and coach became real when she was on a flight to Nagano, Japan to compete in a Paralympics competition. On the flight, Stevens wrote down the many facets of her career that spanned over 20 years. The commonality between all of her positions was making a difference for people. As Stevens soared over the ocean, she knew a seed was being planted. She was finally accomplishing a dream to compete in a Paralympics competition…a dream she has almost given up on at least 4 times in the past 12 years. Stevens began to wonder how many other people had a dream they gave up on. Stevens decided she would help people and reach them through public speaking and personal coaching.
Stevens has received positive feedback from participants who have attended her JUMP START YOUR HEART-CPR FOR YOUR DREAMS program. Participants said they got a feeling of excitement and inspiration they could tap into to continue their dreams, goals, and journey.
"My mission is to help people live their dreams," says Stevens. "Where there is a will, there is a way, and I help people find a way."
